test drive
This is the official test drive for Visitants! Feel free to use this as to gather samples (8 comments from your char) or voicetest. Reserves open March 30th. Feel free to hit up our FAQ if you have any questions.
Please list your character's name (canon also recommended) in the header of your top-level prompt.
1 - Count Chocula
You find yourself awoken in a long-abandoned cabin, far too dusty for anyone's comfort and cobwebs practically coating the wall. Once you leave the cabin, you find yourself in a town in the middle of the woods that's...not looking much better. There are others here in similar situations, however, maybe you should look at them?
2 - Frankenberry
Day-to-day living in town is...simple enough. Try and escape and you'll just get lost in the woods until you find your way back. You're also a bit limited in terms of...comfort. There's not a lot here in the way of entertainment, but it seems as though you'll have enough to do in order to keep yourselves busy.
For you see, unlike other murdergames, the restaurant has been long-abandoned. While there are a limited amount of rations around the town should you scavenge, and a small supply in your room appears now and then to keep you from starving, you'll have to hunt should you want to keep hunger away. Fortunately, there are bows and arrows available...
For the less hunt-inclined members of the group, you can find something to do. Gather wood for campfires, tend to the camp, and there's a limited amount of fertile ground available for crops. Surely you can find something to do to improve life here.
3 - Boo Berry
Congrats! Somebody did a murder. Maybe it was even you. Maybe it was one of your friends. Maybe the victim was your brother. Might want to look into that, maybe?
4 - Fruit Brute
...This place is haunted. You come to this conclusion based on the fact that either you got caught during a trial, and you wake up as a ghost, or your dead friend who was killed is now floating around like it's nothing. Might have to adjust to life as a ghost.
5 - Fruity Yummy Mummy
For all the spooky prompts you wanna do that we don't have.
Keep in mind that posting in the test drive does not represent a commitment to join our game. You're welcome to play here even if you can't app. Playing here does not guarantee a slot in the game, nor does it count as a reserve.

[Tibbs isn't as surprised as one might think that this man's never heard of London. Most animals can only travel so far in their lifetime, and their worldview winds up quite skewed as a result. Tibbs had never had the chance to travel out of Great Britain. The Colonel told him quite a few stories over the years about dogs and cats he had known, whose owners had moved to another country or continent and taken their pet along with them. Far off, unknown lands like India, Germany, the United States...
And who knows how many more places the Colonel had never even heard of!]

[Granted, mostly maps of Tamriel, but he knows the general basics of most other locations. Or at least he likes to think so. Try as he might, the names don't ring any bells. It's... worrying, and a bit suspicious. How can he be certain any of this is truly happening when reality seems so distorted that he can't even recognize the names of places he should know about? But he shouldn't jump ahead to thinking of that so quickly.]
But surely you know of Tamriel. [And then he goes even broader just to cover his bases.] Of Nirn. Mundus.

He's in a Daedric realm, clearly. He can hazard a guess at which. Absent-mindedly, he runs his hands through his hair, still staring up at the sky. This is more of a mess than he'd planned on. After a great deal of internal debate, he looks back towards the... cat. Skooma Cat, he thinks, it ought to have been clear from the start.]
I at least intend to ask someone. Who is the ruler of this realm?
no subject
And I don't exactly keep my nose in human affairs that often. Think London's led by a Queen of some sort...
no subject
I'm sorry. All my years of research on the realms of Oblivion-- it was foolish to assume that alone would provide me with enough knowledge to properly identify one, much less know how to leave.
[It doesn't make sense, though. It seems like so much work to trap him here when they could have just killed him off and ended the bloodline entirely. After much more thought, he focuses on the cat once more.]
I know that you are unfamiliar with these woods, but have you found a way out of them or do they simply go on forever?
no subject
Haven't found anything yet, just the village area we all woke up in. But... it can't go on forever, sir, can it? There has to be a way out somehow.
no subject
It can. The pocket realms of Oblivion can be molded as is seen fit by their rulers, they do not abide by the laws of reality as we know them on Nirn.
[He knows a thing or two about Oblivion.]
...If that is the true explanation, at least. Perhaps fortune will favor us-- for all we know, we could be in the woods just outside Chorral after all, and our captors were just particularly foolish. [And if that's the case then Tibbs is really just some sort of magical cat from another realm. It's fine, he can... live with that explanation too, probably.] There is only one way to know.
[He looks warily beyond Tibbs, into the trees. On the other hand, he isn't so sure he wants to stray far from the cabin he awoke in. If the captors do return, even if it's only to kill or torture him, at least he'll know who is behind it. And he's unbound with a dagger-- he stands a fighting chance. Staying put has its merits.]
no subject
[God this is all so much for this little cat's brain. His ears lay flat at the thought of this forest truly being endless, though.
Jokes on you buddy Tibbs ain't even magic this is the power of D I S N E Y]
And that one way is... Oh.
[Tibbs gulps. It's not like he's unwilling to explore a dangerous, unfamiliar forest with a knife wielding stranger. Really! He's clawed up the faces of puppy killers and led a pack of the poor pups to safety. As nervous as Tibbs is about it, he can do it.
But...]
Are you sure we shouldn't just... stay here? Maybe look around the cabins, see if we can find any hints as to what's going on? Might be more helpful than getting lost out here.
no subject
[He's not explaining further.
He does cast a thoughtful glance at the cabin a ways behind him. He may have been thinking the same thing as Tibbs just earlier, but now that someone else has suggested it he suddenly feels obligated to suggest otherwise. It isn't as though he's unwilling to go out alone if he has to, in any case, but they can at least search the buildings first before he sets out with or without Tibbs.]
We should learn all we can from these cabins, I suppose, but we will have to find a way through the woods eventually. I fear that staying in one place for too long is rather dangerous for me at the moment.
[And, uh, everyone else, probably. But he's still a bit preoccupied with his own problems, on a much larger scale than just having been kidnapped.]
no subject
One on his own's a lot less likely to come back from an expedition than a whole party.
no subject
He keeps feeling like that here. Like he has to make up for the Hero not being here by making all of his stupid decisions in his place. Maybe it's the closest thing he's seen to what an Emperor ought to be like, that or he's doing a wonderful job of proving that he can't be trusted to look after himself these days.]
Well, perhaps, but--
[He was waiting patiently for a pause in which it would be polite to interrupt Tibbs and insist that he really should go off on his own, actually, that's kind of his thing, shouldering all the work when it's a really stupid idea to do so because he doesn't understand teamwork (not like he would phrase it like that). And yet.
He isn't aware how many people are... actually here to begin with. That might be important to learn first. There's a chance there's someone he recognizes, and if the Blades are around...]
How many others are there?
