test drive
This is the official test drive for Visitants! Feel free to use this as to gather samples (8 comments from your char) or voicetest. Reserves open March 30th. Feel free to hit up our FAQ if you have any questions.
Please list your character's name (canon also recommended) in the header of your top-level prompt.
1 - Count Chocula
You find yourself awoken in a long-abandoned cabin, far too dusty for anyone's comfort and cobwebs practically coating the wall. Once you leave the cabin, you find yourself in a town in the middle of the woods that's...not looking much better. There are others here in similar situations, however, maybe you should look at them?
2 - Frankenberry
Day-to-day living in town is...simple enough. Try and escape and you'll just get lost in the woods until you find your way back. You're also a bit limited in terms of...comfort. There's not a lot here in the way of entertainment, but it seems as though you'll have enough to do in order to keep yourselves busy.
For you see, unlike other murdergames, the restaurant has been long-abandoned. While there are a limited amount of rations around the town should you scavenge, and a small supply in your room appears now and then to keep you from starving, you'll have to hunt should you want to keep hunger away. Fortunately, there are bows and arrows available...
For the less hunt-inclined members of the group, you can find something to do. Gather wood for campfires, tend to the camp, and there's a limited amount of fertile ground available for crops. Surely you can find something to do to improve life here.
3 - Boo Berry
Congrats! Somebody did a murder. Maybe it was even you. Maybe it was one of your friends. Maybe the victim was your brother. Might want to look into that, maybe?
4 - Fruit Brute
...This place is haunted. You come to this conclusion based on the fact that either you got caught during a trial, and you wake up as a ghost, or your dead friend who was killed is now floating around like it's nothing. Might have to adjust to life as a ghost.
5 - Fruity Yummy Mummy
For all the spooky prompts you wanna do that we don't have.
Keep in mind that posting in the test drive does not represent a commitment to join our game. You're welcome to play here even if you can't app. Playing here does not guarantee a slot in the game, nor does it count as a reserve.

Time shenanigans. Right.]
Ah. Nah, that's understandable. It's a Martian thing, I guess. At least you guys have each other and...stuff. [What do you ask people about their relationships?] Sorry, didn't mean to pry too much into it. How...How long have you guys been together?
[Here's to hoping Watson doesn't think to ask about Juno's own relationship status. It's...definitely complicated, and he doesn't really want to get into that to a practical stranger. Or, really, anyone. Juno "Internalize Everything" Steel. That's him.]
[spends hours reconstructing the tl for SH canon bcause ACD didnt give a FUCK about consistency]
We took on our wedding bands when I married my wife in 1889- don't worry, she was fully aware. Her tastes were quite similar to mine.
[gay/lesbian solidarity in the 1800s is marrying in order to protect each other + provide easy excuses for one another should suspicions begin to raise.
Watson's curious about whether or not Juno's had similar relationships to his with Holmes, but he's a polite gentlemen at heart and he doesn't want to pry when there's no reason for it. He gets the feeling Juno's the type to keep that thing guarded, anyway.
which is unfortunate bcause i wanted to make juno spill the beans]You're not prying, don't worry. I've just. Never really talked about it before.
[Even with Holmes, the two of them let actions speak more than words- gentle touches, knowing eye contact, affectionate gestures that were so brief that the average person would've missed them.
While Watson says the two have been together for more than five years- eight, if you include Holmes' years in hiding- it's more complicated than that. 1887 was just the year they both put an actual word to things, acknowledged what they were both feeling. If Watson was being entirely honest, they've probably been in love since 1882 and just took quite a while to get around to doing something about that.
But that's confusing and a lot to dump on a relative stranger, so Watson's leaving it at that for now.]

Hey, maybe you could come on to the future and get married. You could take a honeymoon to Ganymede, pretty popular place for newlyweds.
[It's a bittersweet joke. Juno doesn't...really have the same sweet association with nuptial arrangements as most. His unworn wedding dress was still tucked into the back of his closet somewhere where he can't see.
He'd elaborate, maybe even mention this detail, but Juno's perfected the art of talking a whole lot but saying close to nothing.
make! juno! spill! the! beans!]May as well talk about it while you get the chance. After all, you never know when you're gonna be the next one dead.

If we ever find a way to travel through time, I'll certainly give it some thought. Though I'm afraid the culture shock might strike me dead.
[This man was born before cars were even a concept. Before lightbulbs. Before paperclips.
No beans spilling here, though Watson notices Juno looking a little forlorn about the topic of marriage.
He sobers up at the mention of death.]
I suppose you're right about that. Still, I'm not really a stranger to the prospect of dying at any moment. I have the limp and the shoulder ache to prove it.
[Luckily, Watson's leg hasn't given him much trouble lately, and he hasn't needed a cane much these last few weeks. He's been spending most of his time cooped up inside tending to injuries, anyway- nothing too strenuous. On the days where he does need a little extra help to walk, he has a few decently-sized sticks set aside for just that.]

Well, with how much you've been offering your help, maybe they'll like you enough to not even bother trying to kill you.
[Or...they could try and take advantage of his kindness and kill him as a result. That, plus Watson's leg and it was a recipe for disaster. Juno's not very good at being positive. He respects Watson as a good man and a good doctor--it'd be a damn shame if anything happened to him.]
If it's worth anything, I'll keep an eye out for you. [He taps his right temple, above his cybernetic eye.] I'm a pretty good shot--well, that's after my hand heals.

[
"Kill the Medic first" is both a good TF2 strategy AND kinda fucked up in reality!]I appreciate the offer, thank you. But don't worry yourself- I'm not defenseless. If someone tried to kill me in a fair fight, I think I'd at least leave them injured enough that the trial'd be quick and easy for the rest of you.
