test drive
This is the official test drive for Visitants! Feel free to use this as to gather samples (8 comments from your char) or voicetest. Reserves open March 30th. Feel free to hit up our FAQ if you have any questions.
Please list your character's name (canon also recommended) in the header of your top-level prompt.
1 - Count Chocula
You find yourself awoken in a long-abandoned cabin, far too dusty for anyone's comfort and cobwebs practically coating the wall. Once you leave the cabin, you find yourself in a town in the middle of the woods that's...not looking much better. There are others here in similar situations, however, maybe you should look at them?
2 - Frankenberry
Day-to-day living in town is...simple enough. Try and escape and you'll just get lost in the woods until you find your way back. You're also a bit limited in terms of...comfort. There's not a lot here in the way of entertainment, but it seems as though you'll have enough to do in order to keep yourselves busy.
For you see, unlike other murdergames, the restaurant has been long-abandoned. While there are a limited amount of rations around the town should you scavenge, and a small supply in your room appears now and then to keep you from starving, you'll have to hunt should you want to keep hunger away. Fortunately, there are bows and arrows available...
For the less hunt-inclined members of the group, you can find something to do. Gather wood for campfires, tend to the camp, and there's a limited amount of fertile ground available for crops. Surely you can find something to do to improve life here.
3 - Boo Berry
Congrats! Somebody did a murder. Maybe it was even you. Maybe it was one of your friends. Maybe the victim was your brother. Might want to look into that, maybe?
4 - Fruit Brute
...This place is haunted. You come to this conclusion based on the fact that either you got caught during a trial, and you wake up as a ghost, or your dead friend who was killed is now floating around like it's nothing. Might have to adjust to life as a ghost.
5 - Fruity Yummy Mummy
For all the spooky prompts you wanna do that we don't have.
Keep in mind that posting in the test drive does not represent a commitment to join our game. You're welcome to play here even if you can't app. Playing here does not guarantee a slot in the game, nor does it count as a reserve.

3 (owo wats this)
Hey, don't go chewing on his limbs just because he's dead. Have some respect.
no subject
[Some offense taken. He's scowling as much as a wolf can.]
It's easier to collect evidence like this. I believe I have more experience than you in that.
no subject
[(x) doubt]
Last I checked, there weren't any wolves on the police force. You sure you're not just trying to scatter the evidence?
cw mild body horror
The wolf's joints and body begin to bend back far further than they, biologically, should be able to. Flesh stretches and rips as his body unfolds to cover a robot body that, logically speaking, is far too large to fit in that little wolf package.]
Don't make assumptions on what you don't understand.
1/2
Hm.]
2/2
Hm. Normally, I'd say something witty about old dogs and new tricks, but that sort of made me want to take out my other eye.
...So. Uh. Investigation.
no subject
Yes. Back to more pressing matters than assuring you of my competency.
no subject
[Juno's just gonna. Crouch down and start examining the area directly around the body. Not that there's much to be found, but just in case something was left.
...Wow there's a lot of blood here.]
no subject
[So, that puts Juno in the clear.]
I'm unfamiliar with the human body, but blunt force trauma is recognizable in most species. [He gestures to the person's face, disfigured in the damage it took.] Is this deep enough to kill?
no subject
[Juno scoots over just a bit to examine the body. He spends as little time as possible looking directly at the person's face. As much as he deals with stuff like this, he still can't quite stomach the sight of blood.]
Well, any amount of physical trauma can kill a human, depending on where that trauma is pinpointed. But, as far as I can tell, the trauma occurred before this person died. [He gestures to the person's face.] Bruising occurs only while a person is still alive. Sure, blood sometimes pools beneath the skin post-mortem, but that usually looks different than this.
Have you checked for any other wounds? If there's nothing else, I guess we can assume they died from...y'know.
no subject
[Needing to get a closer look, and being inconveniently large in his current form, Carnivac shifts back into a wolf. It's only slightly less nauseating than before.
He sniffs over the body, more thoroughly this time for not being rudely interrupted. The smell of human blood is thick and suffocating, but mostly concentrated around the face.]
I don't detect any more bleeding, though you're welcome to strip-search for different kinds of wounds.
[He can't do it, he has paws.]
no subject
Uh...sure. I guess?
[He reluctantly lifts up the person's shirt, searching for any wounds. Nothing of the sort. He then examines the person's fingernails for any cloth or such--perhaps there had been a struggle of some sort? But again, nothing.]
Either this guy whacked himself in the head with something, or someone else got the drop on him. The trauma probably killed him instantly--no sign of a struggle of any sort. [He stands up and glances over at the wolf.] Normally, I'd rule you out for not having thumbs, but you just showed me that you're a probable suspect.
no subject
[He directs his gaze to Juno, instead of the body. He bristles, uncomfortable to be put under suspicion again, but he would've judged him for lack of scrutiny otherwise.]
Aside from being smarter than that, my fur isn't drenched with blood.
no subject
[Juno's been in far too many similar situations, anyhow. He glances around. No sign of any sort of murder weapon. Of course not. Who'd leave something like that just lying around unless they were purposely trying to frame someone?]
Mind sniffing out any blood-covered blunt objects? I'd help out, but.... [He taps his nose.] Just a regular ol' human.
no subject
[He points his snout very briefly away from the body, and to the rest of the room. He already doesn't expect the murder weapon to be left there, but sometimes people aren't that clever. It could have been dropped in panic, besides.
There's a faint smell of blood further down the flooring, leading out of the room. He begins to follow it, then turns to Juno.]
Follow me.
